This course emphasizes writing as a process for essays with multiple rhetorical modes. Using personal experience, readings with diverse cultural perspectives, and other sources, students apply critical reading and independent research skills to evaluate and integrate sources into their writing with proper citations from MLA and/or APA format. Students engage in discussions and activities that enhance their understanding of, make connections to and reflect upon diverse cultures. This course satisfies the college's General Education requirement for Academic Discourse.
