Enrollment options

This course consists of a lecture component and hands-on component. The student will have the opportunity to apply knowledge that they have gained via lecture directly to hands-on scanning applications. Topics addressed include proper machine set up, annotation of the equipment with reference to anatomy, and basic images. Students will be exposed to the various scan planes and transducer orientations that are utilized in daily practice as a sonographer. In addition, exam protocols and pathology will be discussed. The student will have the opportunity to use the equipment in the classroom. Prerequisite: Cross-Sectional Anatomy (SON113).
