This course is the second in a two-course sequence designed to provide the student with a basic foundation in pharmacology. This course is oriented to providing the student with information regarding commonly used pre-operative and post-operative medications. This class is a lecture class and meets one hour per week for 15 weeks. Drugs will be discussed by grouping them into general classes and with important differences among group members being highlighted. The dosage, routes of administration, generic and trade names, common adverse reactions and important drug interactions will be emphasized.
