Enrollment options

This course is for students who are already experienced Java programmers. It discusses not only the intricacies of Android app development, but publishing in the Market place and monetizing the apps through fees, in-app advertising, or in-app billing of selling virtual goods. Topics include but are not limited to: mobile game design principles, tools and terminology, AndEngine framework, Java/Dalvik and Android SDK, rendering images, using sprite sheets, creating animations, sound, creating an effective game interface, resource files, working with maps, notifications, and building customer UI elements. APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and SDK (Software Development Kits) for phones and tablets will be used. Prerequisites: Grade C or better in Java Programming (CSC-239) and Precalculus (MAT-197).
