Enrollment options

In this course, students will explore ideas about right and wrong. Students will engage with theories in moral philosophy, addressing concepts including rights, responsibilities, consequences, power, harm, equity, and liberation. Students will consider current issues in applied ethics, which will vary, but may include privacy, taxation, parenting, reparations, sexual consent, and/or mass incarceration. Students will practice skills including inclusive interpersonal communication and analysis of observable actions in relation to ethical principles. Students will reflect on and discuss their personal philosophy of right and wrong. The course meets the General Education requirement for Community and Cultural Contexts.
